How Large to Make My Sauna Base? … So Water Drips Outside the Sauna Floor
At left, we use the example of a 5×7′ Sauna to show the proper dimensions such that rain landing on the sauna walls would drip away from the sauna floor.
Basically it’s the sauna W x L + 6½″ in each direction. This calculation results because our beveled siding material is ¾″ thick. So twice = 1½″ from the footprint (5′8″ x 7′8″).
