Sauna Electrical Setup Guide. Obviously the first order of business is making sure you have enough electricity available. This means reviewing your electrical service panel and counting the breakers. Keep in mind, no one uses all their appliances and lights at once, so there’s usually room to serve a sauna heater appliance. Sometimes this is accomplished using tandem circuit breakers which can almost double your panel’s capacity.

Note: All electrical work must be completed by a licensed electrician.
Before the Sauna is Installed:

Have your electrician run:

One 220V line for the sauna heater (no GFCI required).

One 110V line for lights and controls.

Both lines should go to your sauna location, e.g. pad, platform
After the Sauna is Installed:

The electrician will route the wires up the back or side of the sauna into the ceiling cavity, where conduits are exposed.

From there, the wires are pulled down through the conduits to connect the heater, lights, and control panel.
That’s it! Once powered, your sauna will be ready to enjoy.
