Ordering a PreFab Modular Sauna Kit

It happens, but we’re here for you! Customers order the wrong type ofsauna for their site. Here we show you the difference between our Prefab Modular Sauna Kit and our Sauna Material Package
PREFAB MODULAR SAUNA KIT — Our sauna kit is a freestanding structure that assembles in an open space on a cement slab, landscaping pavers or a platform. It’s a ready-to-assemble small building with pre-built wall panels and ceiling panels, and if outdoors includes roof materials and supplies requiring carpentry
SAUNA MATERIALS PACKAGES (SMP) — Your sauna site is new construction or a remodel project of an existing framed room. SMPs require building, insulating and wiring walls in your home, spa or out building plus carpentry from the start. You’ll work with a contractor or handy man to build your walls and install your SMP.
This package includes the lumber materials to line your existing walls (after you’ve insulated and pre-wired) plus the benches, door and heater components. A glass front wall and door is optional
Step 1 — Sauna Plan Configuration
Let’s go over the basics of designing your sauna. This includes:
- Front Wall — If oblong (e.g. a 5×7 sauna), set your sauna entry: LONG wall or SHORT wall. If square (6×6), entry is preset. Panels are numbered for easy reference. Useful when describing custom changes to your sauna.
- Benches — You can remove benches for a deduction. Benches are lettered for easy reference.
- Standard benches are fixed in place, i.e. permanent
- Our hot yoga style benches allow you to slide and/or flip up benches to use the floor for workouts
- Door Swing — Place the door on the front wall: Left, Right or Center
- Heater — Place the heater left or right of the door. You can move or rotate the heater as needed. Add any notes referring to panel number and/or bench letter
- Flooring — we’re referring to duckboard floor grating that covers your base
- Vents — Vents are moveable if required. Vents ensure the appliance breathes better and so will you
- Light / Switch / Control — These are moveable as needed. You can also add lights and outlets to your sauna design
- Add a Changing Room — On our website, you can add a Changing Room as a separate product. To work best your sauna door should be on the short wall.
Step 2 — Choose Your Sauna Door Style
Before choosing a door, we ask you to confirm your door frame height because it affects ceiling height
DOOR FRAME — For our Modular PreFab Sauna Kits you can set the frame at 24×72″ or 24×76″
CEILING HEIGHT —
This is standing head room from your base floor. The top of the ceiling panel will be 4″ higher
After you select your door style, we’ll ask some specific questions:
- Door Swing — Set the door swing when you choose your sauna door. Our suggested door swing is if you had to prop the door open with your backside and stoop to adjust the controls.
- Glass Finish — Clear, etched and rain glass are options
- Window Size — We offer some common sizes for our framed, insulated and clad doors
- Cladding — Can be horizontal or vertical and will match your sauna interior
Step 3 — Select Your Sauna Heater
We offer some rock-solid sauna heater choices on the kit pages
The FIRST heater shown on the page is the one included in the price of the sauna kit — typically one with built-in controls (up to 8kW). In the same row are some alternate heaters, as well. There are dozens of heaters that could work but clearly we can’t show them all here.
If you don’t know at this time, it’s ok. Pick the first heater for now. You can revise your choice during the project review phase (that starts once you put a deposit down).
If you want a more sophisticated heater, e.g. one with external controls, WiFi-enabled, Wet/Dry or possibly wood-fired, then click “Upgrade Heater”. Then after you’ve added the sauna kit to your shopping cart, we’ll redirect you to the correct Sauna Heater page to view more choices.
If you already have a sauna heater, then choose “No Heater” and enjoy your heater. Just let us know what heater you’re using in the notes.
Step 4 — Explore More Sauna Options
Not required, but if you want to explore all that we have to offer when customizing your sauna kit
- Duckboard Flooring — We offer 1×3″ smooth cedar material you’ll build as grating to cover on your hard floor or base
- Benching — Change your bench leg style, facing & back rests and enhance with facing (or skirting) and back rests
- Seats — Change the seating width in 2″ increments
- Conduit — Review your conduit choices for your site. Note you can add conduit (with junction boxes but no wire) for outlets and lights
- Siding — We offer standard 1×8″ bevel siding or you can set a designer look with the same interior T&G material or plywood if you have HOA restrictions or use your own material
- Lights — Every sauna kit comes with our standard brushed aluminum light or you can add others
- Windows — You can add windows to wall panels
Step 5 — Sauna Roof and Overhang Options
SLOPED ROOF — All our Prefab Sauna Kits come with a sloped roof
PEAKED ROOF — Peaked Roof is an upgrade option
In both roof options, you can choose:
WATER PROOFING MATERIAL PEAKED ROOF — Metal, Cedar Shingles or NONE. You might want “NONE” if you must abide by HOA stipulations regarding roof material must match the house
ROOF COLOR — We offer 16 colors
SLOPE ROOF DIRECTION — If sloped there are 4 directions. We do NOT offer gutter material
ROOF OVERHANG — We offer several options to extend the roof over the door

You can pay a 50% deposit when you’re ready by calling us. Quotes has a 60 day expiration.
