In saunas, we recommend leaving the cedar raw and untreated.  Cedar is rated the highest on the stability range of all woods, so it is ideal for sauna and shower rooms. For those who want to protect from sweat stains, we also offer an all-natural, non-toxic water-based sauna sealer Miracle Cover, 1 gallon. For exterior applications, Sun Frog preserves cedar very well.  Provides a warm and natural element for any project.

In a shower or tub environment, we recommend sealing the cedar with several coats of Varathane or spar varnish. This provides a beautiful finish, improves overall hygiene, keeps the wood from getting water-stained and prevents soap scum build up.
